Katahdin Area Boy Scout Service Center
Autoplay: Off
Project Description
This building was designed with the history and imagery of the Boy Scouts of America in mind, with a high-beam wood ceiling and stone fireplace. The building stands overlooking Interstate I-95 visible by traffic and evokes a nostalgic feel of a lodge or cabin, yet houses Boy Scout administrative offices in a contemporary environment. The retail store interior is bright and cheery with a warm wood back drop for scouting awards and supplies. The simplicity of the shape and materials keeps cost and maintenance to a minimum.
